Venus' looking-glass, Triodanis perfoliata

The plant photographer encounters many fellow travelers, and many of those are bugs, such as this stink bug. It seems like this member of the true bug family is a good way to make this point. They often add interest to images, and many will be seen here. I'm no expert on invertebrates, so most will go unidentified. This native American plant has invaded China, Korea, and Australia. Venus' looking-glass grows in dry open sites in every state except NV and HI, and in BC, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 6/12/14
