Threetooth cinquefoil, Sibbaldiopsis tridentata

I often like to shoot in the morning. It's a wonderful way to start a day, and take advantage of a time when fewer other things are going on. And the dew is worth getting up for. This image is from Dolly Sods Wilderness. It's a little out of the way, but worth the trip. Threetooth cinquefoil grows in thin, often rocky ground in CT(E), GA(E), IA(E), IL, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, NC, ND, NH, NJ(E), NY, PA(E), RI(H), TN(SC), VA, VT, WI, WV, AB, LB, MB, NB, NF, NS, NT, ON, PE, QC, SK, GR, ans SPM. Yes, I'm including Greenland and St. Pierre and Miquelon in my ranges. Most of my range information comes from the USDA plants website, which generously includes those locations, as well as all of Canada. Information on state protected status, indicated in parentheses, also comes from that site. Pendleton Co WV, 7/16/15
