cowparship, Heracleum maximum

Cowparsnip is in the umbellifer family. It's named for the shape of the flower head, called an umbel. I'm trying to make each image different on this site. This family both helps and is a challenge. These flowers are different than other families, and that helps. But within the family, there are an awful lot of white flowers that look like this. No matter how many tricks of lighting and composition I can think of, they will all soon start to look alike. Cowparship occurs in low open areas and borders everywhere but AL, AR, FL, HI, LA, MS, OK, TX, and GL. It is endangered in KY, and special concern in TN. Alger Co MI, 7/14/14
