yellow bush lupine, Lupinus arboreus

This wonderfully fragrant bush lupine was growing on a Colorado mountain roadside. It is not officially a Colorado plant. If I had been a proper botanist that day, I would have taken a specimen, pressed and dried it, labelled it, and sent it to the University of Colorado herbarium. Then future works on Colorado plants could include it. The plants known to grow in any area is constantly expanding as collectors do just that. Growing in CA, CO, OR, WA, and BC. Park Co CO, 6/17/13
