hairy evening-primrose, Oenothera villosa

Chris Helzer on his Prairie Ecologist site (https://prairieecologist.com/) just posted some uniquely different images of the leaf rosettes of this plant. If you visit the site, note the tags at the bottom of the item. I know how he feels in the winter. This flower, of course, looks very much like the evening-primrose I posted a few days ago. One reason is that they were taken on the same day, at close to the same time. Normally I would avoid that. But when I considered it, and opened that day's folder, it led to another idea. So it deserved its day. And for the next seven days, you will see the other plant images from that day's outing. This one was taken between home and Ives Fen Preserve. The rest are from the preserve. Hairy grows in every state except AK, FL, HI, LA, NC, SC, and in AB, BC, MB, NB, NS, NT, ON, PE, QC, SK, and SPM. Lenawee Co MI, 8/28/15
