flowering raspberry, Rubus odoratus

Wild or cultivated? The wildflower part of me likes to use images from the wild. The photographer likes the best ones. This time the photographer wins. There are other contradictions with this one. I've never found it to be particularly fragrant. Just as Rubus deliciosus is not delicious. This is also a thornless raspberry - a raspy berry without rasps. It does make a good garden shrub. The flowers are about one and a half inches across. They grows in clearings or borders in woods in AL, CT, DE, GA, IL(E), IN(T), KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, TN, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, NB, NS, ON, and QC.
