violet woodsorrel, Oxalis violacea

Until I opened Google this morning, and saw an emerald isle, I wasn't going to do this one. This is as close to a shamrock as I can come. Have a very lucky day! Violet? Barb and I have had a decades long discussion of where the line should be drawn between pink and purple. But these are definitely not violet. They are a very pretty encounter in moist openings in AL, AR, AZ, CO, CT(S), DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA(E), MD, ME, MI(X), MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY(T), OH, OK, OR, PA, RI(E), SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, and WY. Until I typed that, I forgot how widespread these are. Polk Co FL, 3/16/16
