How do we appreciate wildflowers? Often they are conveniently high, on trees, bushes or tall plants. But sometimes we need to bend down or even get down on our hands and knees to get a close look. Often it's worth it, even if they are less than a quarter inch across. Even if they are called weeds. This one was growing in an old two-track roadbed, hence the appropriate gray background. But I will confess. Just below this image is my thumb. I sinned, bent down far enough to pick one, and held it up in front of the camera. There, confession is good for the soul.
