white fringed orchid, Platanthera blephariglottis

How can people not populate bogs when flowers like this grow there? Is it really all that bad to wade through a little mud? Well, OK, a lot of mud. And sometimes you fall down, or break through the mat and sink, and then what? And poison sumac grows there. Come to think of it, I had to use one once to pull myself out after I broke through. This flower is about 2/3 inch high. It grows in spikes in bogs in AL, CT(E), DE, FL(T), GA, IL, LA, MA, MD(T), ME, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY(V), OH(E), PA, RI(T), SC, TX, VA, VT, NB, NF, NS, ON, PE, QC(L), and on SPM.
