Carolina silverbell, Halesia carolina

Yesterday evening I was watching fireflies, and the neighbor kids catching them. It brings back nice memories. I thought I would do a little research, and post a plant that fireflies are associated with. It turns out there aren't any. Fireflies and their larva are predators, eating bugs, slugs, and worms. Now I don't much regret the dead ones in jars. So instead here is another memory. I always looked forward to seeing silverbell trees in bloom. They grow in AL, FL, GA, MI, MS, NY, and SC.
