trumpet-vine, Campsis radicans

Trumpet-vine is one I remember from early days in West Virginia. It's probably more often called trumpet-creeper. For me trumpet-vine is an early memory that sticks. Like an old memory of music. Once you hear La Boheme, The Bohemians is just not right. I know about a rose by any other name and all that, and this would always be beautiful. But I'll always know it as a vine and not a creeper. Trumpet-vine is native to the southeast, though I recently heard some plants believed to be native have been found in Ontario. It now has been found in AL, AR, CA, CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WA, WI, WV, and ON.
