daisy fleabane, Erigeron annuus

Daisy fleabane is a common roadside flower. It is quick to blow into any open or disturbed site. This one was along the morning road when I had driven south, snoozed in the car, and got a very early start with the dew still on everything. Fleabanes were said to rid a dwelling of the pests. Another itchy hope that didn't work. We still aren't all that good at dealing with itches, but we can bomb the fleas. Daisy fleabane grows in every state except AK, AZ, CO, HI, MT, NV, WY, in all provinces except LB, NT, NU, and YT, and on SPM. Dolly Sods Wilderness, Pendleton Co WV, 7/16/15.
