broadleaf waterleaf, Hydrophyllum canadense

Waterleafs have been relocated into the borage family because of results in chromosome sequencing analysis. They do have some differences with other borages, and the original separation did have some logic. Which brings me to computer logic. We often accept the logic of computers as a given. But those who give it make mistakes. What if there are glitches in the chromosome sequencing analysis. How would we know? Are minibushes rhododendrons? Really!? And what about these waterleafs? I accept their results. But I also accept that in the fullness of time, glitches will come to light. It will keep things interesting. Broadleaf waterleaf grows in woods in AL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA(E), MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ(E), NY, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, VT(T), WI, WV, ON, and QC(L). Lenawee Co MI, 6/2/12.
