Leaf-cup has an interesting, and at least to me, mysterious bloom. These pretty flower heads appear when the plants first start to bloom. They're about an inch across. But if you pass by a leaf-cup a month later, you will pass right by. The flowers at that point have much smaller ray flowers, and aren't nearly as attractive. Both the ray and disc flowers vary in color, and may be white or yellow. Leaf-cup grows in damp woods and along their borders in AL, AR, CT(E), GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NY, OH, OK, PA, TN, VA, VT(E), WI, WV, and ON. Hamilton Co OH, 7/13/15.
