Devil's beggar-ticks, Bidens frondosa

Requested by Glen, who was there. This is not a flower I would go looking for. But you might say they go looking for us. I didn't look partly because I didn't know it existed. And partly because it's such an pest. The two-pronged seeds will provide you with hours of entertainment, if you watch TV while you pull them off your clothes. I have seen too many Devil's, but I had never seen one like this. Normally they don't have the five petal-like flowers you see around these heads. Without those, they're even less appealing. Devil's grows in wet or weedy places in every state except HI and MT, and has been carried to AB, BC, MB, NB, NF, NS, ON, PE, QC, SK, Eurasia, Africa and New Zealand. Lenawee Co MI, 9/15/17.
