rapeseed, Brassica napus

Anne wanted to see some mustard. Which led to the discovery that the mustard family is not only a gap among these images, but also in my brain. I suppose they don't interest me more because so many of them are not native, at least here in the east. And in this case it has such a seriously unappealing name. So let's fix that. We need a new name. How about canola? Yep, it turns out that this is canola. I had no idea. But if I were going to grow it and sell it, I would wan't to call it canola. This Eurasian native now grows wild across North America, even Greenland. Lenawee Co MI, 5/21/11.
