alpine clover, Trifolium dasyphyllum
Here in the east we think of clover as weedy invaders from across the world. Elsewhere, not so much. There are many native clovers, particularly in the west. This is one of my favorites, partly because of where it lives. Paul suggests I show more scenes of the habitat. It's probably a good idea whose time will come mostly in the future, as I start taking more of those images. This little clover grows in mountain meadows in AZ, CO, MT, NM, UT, and WY. Mt. Evans National Park, Clear Creek Co CO, 6/18/13.
