sand violet, Viola affinis

It is unclear to me how typical this delicate color is of sand violets. All the flowers from this particular patch look like this. Judging by images on the internet, the species tends to be a little paler than common violets, but not this pale. Sand violets grow in moist forests and openings in AL, AR, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NH(E), NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, ON, and QC(L).
