winter aconite, Eranthis hyemalis

Winter aconite is a very early bloomer. I started hearing of it in bloom in Michigan three weeks ago. Yesterday was the first I've seen this year. This is an European native, occasionally escaped to woods. It has been reported from DE, IL, KY, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, VA, and ON. Lenawee Co MI, 4/5/18.
