garden loosestrife, Lysimachia punctata

Garden loosestrife is a handsome plant, now escaping to our roadsides and open areas. Seems to be a good instance to not look at a gift horse too closely. Or perhaps we should! It's a beautiful species, growing in clumps that easily draw your eye. And it's not invasive. So if you spot some in CT, IA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, VT, WA, WI, BC, NF, NS, ON, PE, or QC, enjoy! Or if it's in your neighbor's garden, as was the case here. Cultivated in Lenawee Co MI, 6/6/13.
