It took a couple tries to identify this one. According to USDA, starry rosinweed doesn't grow in Ohio. This one did. It turns out that this species of rosinweed is very variable. Different botanists have combined or split out a number of species depending on various characters. This young bug didn't seem to care. Whatever it is, it tastes right. In this interpretation, starry rosinweed grows in AL, AR, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, MO, MS, NC, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV. Cedar Bog Nature Preserve, Champaign Co OH, 8/19/11.
