Bartram's rose gentian, Sabatia bartramii

When St. John's-wort indicates fun, what do we see? Bartram's rose gentian was one of the results. Between two and three inches across, on foot high stems, this has to be one of our most remarkable wildflowers. One drawback. Way back in grade school I remember a lesson in complementary colors. Pink and yellow together? Mrs. Shackleford wouldn't approve. I guess Bartram missed that day. This rose gentian grows in damp ground in AL, FL, GA, MS, and SC. Wakulla Co FL, 7/8/18.
