Today is celebrate a weed day! You may not find it on your calendar, but it's liable to pop up almost anytime. Here, there, or anywhere. This little one seems to think it's pretty special. It can move into your lawn, and the next thing you know it's taken over. It forms large carpets in the spring, then gradually dying back to allow other plants their turn. Creeping birdeye is a Eurasian, so far popping up here in CA, CT, ID, MD, MI, NY, OH, OR, PA, VT, WA, WV, BC, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 4/26/11.
