pointedleaf ticktrefoil, Hylodesmum glutinosum

Most woodland flowers bloom the first chance they get, and bask in the spring shine. Then they disappear, at least from our consciousness. Pointedleaf ticktrefoil is a little contrary, blooming in the summer. No, make that a lot contrary. After it blooms, it attacks. Anyone who walks through the later season woods has experienced these assaults. And spent many moments picking the clinging little triangles from clothes. These burs wait for you in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, NB, NS, ON, and QC.
