Lyreleaf is one of the many wild native sages. Not to be confused with the many sagebrushes, which smell the same but are quite different otherwise. These sage are in the same genus as the stuff on your spice rack, and they're all in the mint family. Sagebrush is more closely related to ragweeds and daisies. Lyreleaf is a very common wild flower in the southeast that adapts well to gardens. Very well. Then it spreads to your lawn. Seems like it's right up my alley! Flower size varies, with a maximum length of about an inch. Lyreleaf sage grows in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, MO, MS, NC, NJ, NY(E), OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV.
