desert princesplume, Stanleya pinnata

For wildflower people in the east, the mustard family is ho-hum. I even want to say blah! They're mostly weeds. But when you go west! Princesplume as a prince among them. These yellow spires can be head high, lengthening as they bloom. Something to keep your eye open for, if the ladies make you go to four corners. That's where Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah meet. The most ridiculous tourist rip off ever! Fortunately, there were princesplume along the way. Princesplume grows in AZ, CA, CO, ID, KS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, SD, TX, UT, and WY. Montezuma Co CO, 6/22/13.
