brown-eyed Susan, Rudbeckia triloba

Are any of the flowers like this really black eyed? Does that make brown-eyed the honest one of the bunch? Maybe it depends on how much light you shine on the question? In any case, this may be my favorite Rudbeckia. So many flowers! The flower heads are a little smaller than their kin, but the plants are taller. They're great in a garden if you don't care how much they spread. Brown-eyed Susan grows in AL, AR, CO, CT, DE, FL(E), GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 7/30/10.
