jeweled blue-eyed-grass, Sisyrinchium xerophyllum
These blue eyes that shyly look up to us have yellow irises? Well why not? They're in the iris family, so why wouldn't you want to show off your irises. The whole deal is to show off anyway. But they've picked a different way to do it than their more complex iris relatives. Jeweled blue-eyed-grass is a species of scrub and pinelands in FL, GA, and NC. Polk Co FL, 3/17/16.
