There is a folk tale that as Christ walked the land, silverweed grew in His footsteps. Likely true, because it was already there. The plant trails along the ground, with leaves and flowers at the nodes of the stem. The underside of the leaves are bright silvery white. It grows around the northern hemisphere in sandy or gravelly places such as shores and roadsides. Here it's found in AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, IA(T), ID, IL, IN(T), MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MT, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA(T), RI, SD, TN, SD, TN, UT, VT, WA, WI, WY, in all provinces, and on SPM.
