Here's another DYC - damned yellow composite. Although, as one goes west, and tries to identify them, one might get even more testy about it. This one has been a tougher puzzle than most, and if anyone has a better idea, let me know. Like Flora of North America, who might say this is Xanthisma spinulosum. Even the pros don't agree. In any case, it's a pretty little aster-sized flower with interesting spiny leaves. If we believe the Machaeranthera idea, it grows in AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, KS, MN, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, SD, TX, UT, WY, AB, MB, and SK. Sedgwick Co CO, 6/25/13.
