Carolina wild petunia, Ruellia caroliniensis

Carolina wild petunia is one that's gone the opposite direction from yesterday's Korean mint. It's a wild one that is becoming quite popular in gardens. Like that mint, once it's in it thrives, freely spreading by seed. Given that, it seems likely that it will spread from gardens to the wild on other continents. Now it grows in AL, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MS, NC, NJ(E), OH, OK, PA(X), SC, TN, TX, VA, and WV. Polk Co FL, 3/16/16.
