manyflowered stoneseed, Lithospermum multiflorum
Yesterday I had a pickup at Amtrak. While waiting I browsed their magazine. There was an item titled "Moving Pictures"; images taken out of train windows. It reminded me of this one, although the train wasn't moving. Never pass up a chance! The seeds of this western plant were eaten by the Gosiute, which is surprising as the are very hard with little kernel. It was a life medicine for the Navajo. It grows in AZ, CO, NM, OK, TX, UT, and WY. LaPlata Co CO, 6/23/13.
