sundrops, Oenothera fruticosa
Many of the Oenothera are evening-primroses, blooming at night and soon fading in sunlight. So a lot of my images of those take advantage of the morning dew. Sundrops last a lot longer, so I must have visited these on a rainy day. Drops of sun on a rainy day. Because they do show off most of the day, they have become popular for gardens. And the Cherokee used the plants as a fried vegetable. Sand Creek Preserve, Hillsdale Co MI, 6/17/12.
