sulphur cinquefoil, Potentilla recta

Recta may be the world's most common cinquefoil. Recta means right or correct. It could write a book, "The Habits of Most Successful Plants". But I can't, because I'm not sure what so correctly sets this one apart. Why would pale yellow be better than bright yellow? Is two feet tall, or are flowers an inch across, the ideal size? Pollination by anything that comes along probably helps, as does the ability to survive in a great many habitats. It all works so well that sulphur is somewhat invasive in the northwest. Sulphur or roughfruit cinquefoil now grows in every state and province except HI, LB, NT, NU, and YT. Lenawee Co MI, 6/14/18.
