branched centaury, Centaurium pulchellum

This centaury is another get-down-on-your-belly opportunity. These pretty little blooms are hardly an eighth of an inch across. Although if you haven't mowed them, they may be tall enough to enjoy if you're still young enough to squat. Branched centaury is a sort of weedy species of lawns, roadsides and fields, emigrated from Eurasia to CO, CT, DE, IA, IL, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MS, NE, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SD, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, NB, NS, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 10/6/11.
