western rockjasmine, Androsace occidentalis

Rockjasmines are delicate pretty little plants in the primrose family. Western's flowers are less than a quarter inch across. It was fun to see them in Colorado. Back in Michigan they're so rare I wouldn't likely find them even if I tried. It hasn't been seen here since 1931. Western rockjasmine grows in mountain meadows and at lower altitudes in dry open areas in AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, IL, IN(T), KS, MA, MI(E), MN, MO, MT, ND, NM, OH(T), OK, SD, TX, UT, WI, WY, AB, BC, MB, ON, and SK.
