Bush's purple coneflower, Echinacea paradoxa

Paradox; a statement or situation with contradictory elements that still express a truth. Or is Bush just color blind?
Echinacea flower heads do have purple ray flowers, with this one exception. It certainly looks like a purple coneflower in every other regard. Some people do call this Bush's yellow coneflower, apparently in an effort to rationalize their lives.
Either way, Bush is from open areas in AR(T), MO, OK, and TX. Cultivated, Livingston Co MI, 6/1/19.

I will be travelling this weekend, so the next posting will be Monday.
