clustered bushmint, Hyptis alata

This bushmint has much the same aspect as mountain-mints; a branched herb two to three feet tall, with flowers clustered at the ends of branches. For Creole, this is herb de bouton. One can picture this as a boutonniere, until you smell it. It deserves the other name of musk mint. Clustered bushmint most often grows in the zone between wetlands and higher ground in AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, TX, and south into Argentina. Wakulla Co FL, 7/8/18.
