Angel;s trumpet, Brugmansia suaveolens

I often hesitate to post plants that have as tenuous a claim to being an American wildflower as angel's trumpet. It has only been reported from Florida, although I did see one that appeared to be in a wild habitat in southern Georgia. What angel's trumpet does not have is a claim to being naturally wild. It is believed to be extinct in its native South American range. It may have been eradicated partly because of its poison, partly by collecting for garden trade, but mostly by habitat loss. So having a few of these great big beautiful blooms here may not be so bad. Hidden Lake Gardens, Lenawee Co MI, 10/18/16.
