rosy camphorweed, Pluchea rosea
Not a bad shot, but I've never felt that it really captures how pretty the reality was. All that fuzz, covered with early morning dew! Maybe I feel that way because I was having such a wonderful moment, wandering down a sparkly path in the Everglades just after sunrise. It was a magical moment, impossible to catch in a image and almost as hard to remember in its wonder. Rosy camphorweed is also known as P. baccharis. It grows in savannas, marshes and flatwoods in AL, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, and TX, and on into Central America and the Bahamas. Everglades National Park, Monroe Co FL, 1/26/13. Aster family, Asteraceae.
