longleaf bluets, Houstonia longifolia

Longleaf bluets is a small plant, at most ten inches tall, with quarter inch flowers in white or pale blue. Not very noticeable individually. But when they crowd together at the edge of a wood, they will catch your eye. Longleaf bluets grow mostly in upland woods in AL, AR, CT(E), FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA(E), MD, ME(S), MI, MN, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI(X), SC, TN, VA, VT, WI, WV, AB, MB, ON, QC(L), and SK.
