veiny dock, Rumex venosus

"Veiny dock, from the last time at Great Sand Dunes. These fruit are actually prettier than the flowers."
Barb, "Ugly!"

"Yeah?"
The fruit here are what you will almost always see of this. It's sometimes called wild begonia because of this look. This was the only time I've seen it, so we don't have the option of flowers. Veiny dock grows in mostly sandy areas, and has become a pasture weed, in CA, CO, IA, ID, IN, KS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WI, WY, AB, MB, and SK.
