sand-dune willow, Salix cordata

Oops! Too intense a focus on this willow catkin, and Lake Michigan got weird. Used to be unconscious, lining up the horizon. But as my years have gone by, things have gotten wobbly. Not a symptom I expected or understand. And one more thing to consider when I line up a shot. For sand-dune willow, the shore was pretty much unavoidable. In Michigan, and most other places in its range, this is a shrub of coastal dunes. It grows in IL(E), IN, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY(E), PA, WI(E), LB, NF, ON, and QC. Wilderness State Park, Emmet Co MI, 5/25/12. Willow family, Salicaceae.
