needleleaf fleabane, Erigeron nematophyllus
Needleleaf is one of many western fleabanes, asters, and their relatives. They all look kind of alike. There's enough difference among them to keep botanists happy, but leave rest of us occasionally puzzled. For all, they are welcome trail side or wilderness encounters. Needleleaf fleabane most often appears among sagebrush in CO, UT, or WY. Grand Co CO, 6/17/13. Aster family, Asteraceae.
