When is a weed not a weed? When it increases tissue long-chain n-3 fatty acid content! Corn gromwell is a common weed of agriculture, now coming into cultivation itself. It has been discovered that it produces just about the healthiest of vegetable oils. The oil from these seeds has been compared favorably to that of flax seed. Its cultivation is mostly being explored in its native Europe. Here it grows wild in every state except AK, AZ, HI, NM, and NV, and in BC, MB, NS, ON, and QC. Lenawee Co MI, 5/7/11.
