foamflower, Tiarella cordifolia

Foamflower has six-inch spikes of quarter inch flowers. They do kind of look like foam, growing in patches in the woods. Wish it grew here! We're in a foamflower hole. It grows south, east, north and west of us, but not a bit at the southeast edge of Michigan. So it was a welcome last shot on that trip south. Foamflower is known in AL, CT, GA, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ(E), NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, VT, WI(E), WV, NB, NS, ON, and QC. Scioto Co OH, 4/20/20. Saxifrage family, Saxifragaceae.
