perfoliate bellwort, Uvularia perfoliata

Deja vu all over again? Seen it here before? It sure does look like large-flowered bellwort. It's right to post perfoliate second, because it blooms later. These plants were beginning to flower as nearby large-flowered ones were just about done. The most distinctive difference are the somewhat orange little bumps on the inside if the tepals. So here we have perfoliate bellwort, which really needs a new common name. Some call it merry bells, which would be good if not already used for other species. Perfoliate grows in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WV, and ON. Chateau Nivale Preserve, Adams Co OH, 4/28/20. Lily-of-the-valley family, Convallariaceae.
