sanddune skyrocket, Ipomopsis gunnisonii
This used to be sanddune gilia. When the name of the genus was changed to Ipomopsis, the common name was adjusted. Now some, apparently not satisfied with a common name based on the scientific, call it skyrocket. And this is the poor excuse for information you get when a plant hasn't really gotten a lot of attention? These half-inch flowers grow in dry ground in AZ, CO, NM, and UT. Montrose Co CO, 6/21/13. Jacob's-ladder family, Polemoniaceae.
