Finished at Chateau Nivale Preserve, I hit the road for Wilderness Preserve. Along the way there was an interesting looking roadside. Checking it out, I saw this dainty little yellow flax. Always enjoy these because I don't see many. I've found that these are hard to ID from images, so when I was done I collected a sprig. Ultimately, this turned out to be L. virginianum. Oops! What was it really that I posted back on July 5? That has now been corrected to stiff yellow, L. medium. Slender yellow has smaller flowers about a quarter inch across. It grows in AL, CT, DE, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI(T), MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, WV, and ON. Adams Co OH, 7/8/20. Flax family, Linaceae.
