slender mountain-mint, Pycnanthemum tenuifolium

Mountain-mints have fascinating little flowers about 3/16 inch across. When these open, they are very pale pink with purple spots. But you might notice when they are spent and the pollinators move on, the rouge and beauty marks are dispensed with, leaving corallas that are completely white. This species grows in AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WV, ON, and QC. Adams Co OH, 7/8/20.
